POSITION OVERVIEW: Direct and manage First Western Bank & Trust’s market, including retail, commercial and industrial, and commercial real estate loans to sustain and grow the Bank’s profitability and reduce loan loss.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for budget-planning, loan growth, and deposit growth
  • Oversee market’s lending function and maintain strong commercial, agriculture, consumer and mortgage portfolios
  • Develop new and expand existing loan and deposit customer relationships
  • Administer individual loan portfolio securing and processing both large and complex loans based on loan policies and procedures
  • Provide staff with direction in handling complex lending agreements
    Consult with management on overall loan policies and procedures and make recommendations for improvement
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on credit and credit related items to the credit committees
  • Responsible for branch’s credit quality and collection functions
  • Guide lenders in meeting loan portfolio growth, sustainability goals, and detecting deteriorating loan quality
  • Assist lenders in decisions that exceed their lending limit
  • Serve on bank committees as assigned by the Board of Directors
  • Ensure documentation follows bank policy as well as State and Federal Regulations
  • Identify additional growth opportunities to cross-sell all bank products and services
  • Provide leadership and personal involvement in the local community to develop business relationships and represent the bank as a responsible business citizen
  • Implement departmental policies, procedures, and service standards in conjunction with management
  • Provide leadership for entire staff in developing and attaining individual goals
  • Strengthen employee engagement
  • Prepare and deliver employee performance reviews and salary/bonus recommendations
  • Ensure compliance with banking laws, regulations and the Bank’s policies and procedures, including Bank Secrecy Act
  • Maintain continuing education related to regulatory standards

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or finance related field
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in bank lending, loan review, compliance or finance
  • Strong understanding of financial statements
  • Knowledge of loan policies and regulations
  • Knowledge of credit policies and standards
  • Additional certification or lending credentials preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Normal office environment with good lighting, and generally, little exposure to excessive dust, humidity or temperature. The noise level is usually moderate, limited to the operation of printers, computer equipment, telephones, background music and conversation.
