Summary of Work

The individual in this role will have knowledge and skills to process payments for the entire BND loan portfolio made up of over 115 loan programs comprised of direct loans, participation loans, administered loans, and student loans.  They will have analytical and problem-solving skills to be able to process non-posted transaction reports to ensure all transactions are posted correctly.  This position will verify information on loan boarding sheets, activate loans and disburse proceeds for new direct and participation loans.  They will also process loan operating system maintenance to maintain the integrity of the loan operating systems.  This position will work closely with lead bank personnel educating them on the unique qualities of our loan program.  This role will research loan balance and interest accrual discrepancies and calculate and input corrections and adjustments.  This position may assist with projects regarding software upgrades, paying escrow, updating interest rates, processing stale dated checks and the escheatment process.

The selected candidate must be detail oriented and have a proven history of being able to complete detailed tasks consistently with accuracy. They must be an innovative team player with the ability to identify process inefficiencies and provide viable solutions.  They will be expected to foster the Bank of North Dakota’s partnerships with lead banks through positive interactions and will be required to provide additional support as necessary.  They must be able to adjust priorities to changing circumstances and maintain quality and accuracy in a fast-paced atmosphere.  A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to courtesy and tact.  Work involves extensive interaction with others, both internally and externally. 

 

Minimum Qualifications

This position requires an associate degree in finance, business, or a closely related field of study and 12 months’ work experience in banking involving bookkeeping, bank cashiering, or office support duties.  The hiring authority may substitute accredited accounting or banking course work for the required work experience if it provided the knowledge and skills required to perform the core competencies of the position to be filled.
